ஒரு முஸ்லிம் ஐயவாதியின் வாசிப்புக்கான பரிந்துரைப் பட்டியல்

அனைத்தையும் சந்தேகிப்பதும், அவற்றைக் கேள்வி கேட்பதும் ஐயவாதம் (skepticism) எனப்படுகிறது. மேற்குலகச் சூழலில் இது பெருமளவு மதமும் திருச்சபையும் முன்வைத்த உண்மைகளை, அறவிழுமியங்களை, அறிவை, இயல்கடந்த விசயங்களை (supernaturals) சந்தேகிக்கும், கேள்வி கேட்கும் போக்காகவே உருவாகி வளர்ந்தது. அதன் நீட்சியாகவே இன்றைய செக்குலர் மேற்குலகு —பொதுவாக நவீன உலகு— உருவாகியுள்ளது.

பண்டைய உலகில் மதம் வகித்த இடத்தை இன்று அறிவியலை பூஜிக்கும் அறிவியல்வாதம் (scientism), மனிதனை பூஜிக்கும் மனிதமையவாதம் (humanism), தனிமனித சுதந்திரத்தை பூஜிக்கும் தாராளவாதம் (liberalism) போன்ற “நவீன மதங்கள்” பிடித்துக் கொண்டுள்ளன.

கிறித்தவ ஐரோப்பாவில் ஒடுக்கப்படும் தரப்பாக இருந்த இவை இன்று ஒடுக்கும் தரப்பாக, கொடுங்கோன்மை புரியும் தரப்பாக பரிணமித்துள்ளன. உண்மை என்னவோ தமது தனியுடைமை என்பது போல் நடந்து கொள்கின்றன. தனதல்லாத எதையும் ஆணவத்தோடு நிராகரிக்கின்றன, வன்மத்தோடு எள்ளி நகையாடுகின்றன. உரிய இடத்தைத் தர மறுக்கின்றன. ஒடுங்கிக் கிடக்கச் சொல்லி கொக்கரிக்கின்றன.

இயல்பிலேயே இஸ்லாம் அனைத்தையும் தழுவியது. தனிமனிதன், குடும்பம், சமூகம், அரசு, முழு மனிதகுலம் என அனைத்தைக் குறித்தும் அதற்கேயுரிய ஓர் தனித்த கண்ணோட்டம் இருக்கிறது. தனக்குரிய நியாயமான இடத்தை மறுக்கும் இந்த ஆதிக்கக் கருத்தியல்களின் முன்னால் மற்ற மதங்கள் போல் அது ஒருபோதும் மண்டியிடாது.

அந்த வகையில், இன்று அவற்றின் ஆதிக்கப் பிடியை எதிர்க்கத் துணியும் ஒரு முஸ்லிம் விவாத மேசையைத் திருப்பிப் போடுகிறான். இந்த “நவீன மதங்களின்” அடிப்படைக் கோட்பாடுகள் மீது ஐயத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறான், அவற்றைக் கூண்டிலேற்றிக் கேள்வி கேட்கிறான். இத்தகைய விமர்சனப் பிரக்ஞையுள்ள முஸ்லிமை நாம் “முஸ்லிம் ஐயவாதி” (Muslim Skeptic) என்றழைப்பது பொருத்தமாக இருக்கும். ஒருவகையில், இது அவர்களின் கசப்பு மருந்தை அவர்களுக்கே ஊட்டுவது போன்றது.

இன்றைய உலகை ஆட்டிப்படைக்கும் மேற்சொன்ன “நவீன மதங்களை” விமர்சனபூர்வமாகக் கற்கும்போதே இது சாத்தியப்படும். இது தொடர்ந்த உழைப்பைக் கோரும் ஒன்று. அந்த வகையில், பயனுள்ள வாசிப்புக்கான ஒரு சிறு பரிந்துரைப் பட்டியலை டேனியல் ஹகீகத்ஜூ தனது The Muslim Skeptic வலைப்பக்கத்தில் பதிவிட்டுள்ளார். ஆர்வமும் வாய்ப்பும் உள்ளோர் கண்டிப்பாக இந்நூல்களைப் பயிலும்படி பரிந்துரைக்கிறோம்.

இவற்றைப் பரிந்துரைக்கிறோம் என்பதால் அவை முன்வைக்கும் கருத்துகள் அனைத்தும் நமக்கு உடன்பாடானவை என்று பொருளல்ல. எனினும், விமர்சனபூர்வமாகக் கற்பதற்கு அவை தகுதிபடைத்தவை என்பதே இங்கு நம் கவனத்திற்குரியது.
